The EDD created the DE 2320 - For Your Benefit, California’s Program for the Unemployed to explain employees’ rights to UI, SDI and paid family leave (PFL).
When discharging, laying off or placing an employee on a leave of absence, you must provide that employee with written notice of thier UI benefit rights by providing the DE 2320 - For Your Benefit, California’s Program for the Unemployed pamphlet. You must give this pamphlet no later than the effective date of the termination. For more information, see “Required Unemployment Insurance Notices and Pamphlets” in Employer’s Tax Obligations.
