Pursuant to Labor Code section 3551, you must give a workers’ compensation pamphlet to all new employees. This pamphlet informs your employees of their rights and obligations regarding workers’ compensation.
This pamphlet is in addition to the required poster discussed in Workers’ Compensation Posters and Notices.
Give a workers’ compensation pamphlet to each new employee at the time of hire or by the end of the first pay period. The pamphlet must be written in an easily understood manner. In addition to the information contained in the poster, this pamphlet must include:
If your employee designates a personal physician or personal chiropractor, you should retain the completed designation forms and forward a copy to your workers’ compensation insurance carrier.
If you have Spanish-speaking employees, you are required to post the notice in both English and Spanish, and you are required to provide the pamphlet in both English and Spanish.
