If there is a claim of sexual harassment by one of my employees, can I interview the alleged harasser?

You have an affirmative duty to investigate complaints of harassment. The investigation should be prompt, thorough and objective. This means interviewing the complaining employee, the alleged harasser, any witnesses and any other person who may have relevant information.

Investigators should be fully trained before beginning an investigation.

You can find more information in the Harassment Investigations section of the HR Library.
