What can I do if an employee files a workers' compensation stress claim but I think it is the employee's personal life, not their job, that is causing the stress?

"Stress claims" causing mental injury are covered only if more than half of the employee's stress comes from his/her work. Provide your workers' compensation carrier with any information you have regarding potential sources of stress outside the workplace for the employee. Leave it to your carrier to conduct any investigation.

You can find more information in the Stress-Related Injuries section of the HR Library.
