No minimum exists for scheduling an employee. The employer decides the employee's schedule. Thus, a part-time employee could accept a job knowing that they will be scheduled for one or two hours a day, or more, as needed.
Employees who report to work and who are not provided with work must be paid "reporting pay," which is equal to one-half the scheduled hours with a maximum of four hours, but not less than two hours pay.
