Weekly benefit amounts are calculated using a 12-month base period divided into four consecutive three-month quarters. For a disability claim to be valid, there must be at least $300 in wages in the base period.
The weekly benefit amount is determined by the quarter of the base period in which the highest wages were paid and is generally approximately 60-70 percent of the earnings in the high quarter.
For disabilities beginning on or after January 1, 2020, weekly benefits range from $50 to $1,300. The maximum benefit amount is 52 times the weekly benefit amount or the total wages earned in the base period, whichever is less.
