Do I have to post a UI poster and distribute UI pamphlets?

Employers subject to both the state's unemployment insurance (UI) and disability insurance programs must post Form DE 1857A. Employers subject only to the unemployment insurance program must post Form DE 1857D.

The employer must provide the Employment Development Department pamphlet DE 2320 (entitled "For Your Benefit"), which informs employees of UI benefit rights to an employee at the time the employee becomes unemployed or is placed on a leave of absence.

You may provide materials related to benefit rights and claims for rights electronically if the employee affirmatively, and in writing or by email, or by some form of electronic acknowledgement, opts into receiving electronic materials.
