Do I have to pay an employee who does not turn in their timecard?

Yes, employers are legally responsible for recording and paying for all hours worked.

Even if an employee fails to submit a timecard, the employer must pay wages on the regular payday. The law does not allow employers to delay payment until the timecard is submitted or the next payday.

Employers must pay all regularly scheduled straight-time hours and any scheduled overtime worked during the pay period.

Payment for unscheduled overtime hours may be delayed until the next regular pay period.
